Sextuplets can really help you achieve that horse gallop flow around the kit. These 8 exercises found in the PDF are good examples of this “gallop flow”. Download the PDF and jump on the horse and get running! But before running you must learn to walk so make sure you practice the fills slow with a metronome at first. ie. 90 bpm. After you’re comfortable at 90 bpm, slowly increase the tempo while maintaining clean execution of these fills and beats. Go get it! 🙂
Sextuplet Gospel Fills (PDF)
Sextuplets are extremely effective when trying to express you ideas around the drum set. The PDF contains 8 sextuplet fills which consists of 1 bar of 4/4 time (snare on 2 and 4, kick on 1 and 3), followed by a one bar fill. By applying the context of a 4/4 beat with these fills, this will help make sure your transitions from one another are smooth, clean and tight. Of course its always important to use a metronome when practicing these types of exercises as the metronome will keep you on track and make sure you’re not rushing or dragging the tempo. Video instruction and demonstrations of these sextuplets can be seen on my YouTube channel. Enjoy the fills and let me know if there is anything specific you’d like me to cover in a video. Email me!
